Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur is unable to give a start date for Mercedes engineer Loic Serra.
RacingNews365 reported before Hamilton's bombshell move to Ferrari was announced on February 1st that the looming departure of Mercedes' Performance Director to Maranello was a key factor behind his decision to leave himself after the 2024 season.
As with every high-profile technical transfer between teams, Serra was set to undergo the normal period of gardening leave teams insist upon.
Serra was present during pre-season testing for Mercedes, meaning a deal had not been agreed with Ferrari for his release as the period of leave would have already commenced.
Vasseur was asked about if he had any information about Serra's arrival at the Scuderia after the Bahrain Grand Prix.
"That is still a point of discussion," he simply told media including RacingNews365.
