Ferrari has presented a minor change to its car livery for the Italian Grand Prix this weekend from Monza.

The team is hoping for a stronger run-out on home soil as it aims to take a step forward after a difficult streak of results in the mid-part of the ongoing F1 campaign.

On the build-up to the race, Ferrari teased a revised livery with the squad donning black race suits and team apparel.

However, the new livery in question is not as dramatic as the teases suggested, with the major difference focused on driver numbers on the engine covers.

Ferrari is using the weekend the weekend to celebrate the carbon fibre material that F1 cars are made from.

“To mark the occasion, instead of the usual white background with a yellow border, the numbers 16 and 55 on the SF-24s will replicate the look of carbon with its woven texture and natural reflections,” the team stated.

“In addition, the drivers’ race suits, helmets, shoes and glasses will also reflect the carbon fibre theme.”

Expanding on the special helmets that its drivers will use, Ferrari added: “For the Italian Grand Prix, Charles and Carlos will use special versions of their Bell helmets.

“The carbon fibre, of which the helmets are manufactured, will be left bare in parts in among the red and the only other colour used will be the yellow already celebrated in past years in Monza, because of its history as a Ferrari and Scuderia colour.

“It is also the colour of the city of Modena, chosen by Enzo Ferrari as the background to the black Prancing Horse emblem.”
