A second red flag has been flown in first practice ahead of this weekend's Mexican Grand Prix, following a collision between Alex Albon and F1 rookie Oliver Bearman. Bearman was sitting in for Charles Leclerc at Ferrari, as part of the regulation that each team must run a rookie driver in two FP1 sessions across a season. The incident took place between the high-speed Turns 9 and 10, with Albon having made contact with Bearman. Albon had a snap of oversteer which sent him into a slow-moving Bearman, who had moved off the racing line to allow the Williams driver past. The contact resulted in a heavy collision with the barrier for Albon, causing significant damage to his FW46. Albon and Bearman's accident saw the red flag flown again with just under 38 minutes remaining. It was the second red flag of the session after a red flag was needed in the opening minutes to clear a piece of debris.
