Ferrari has announced that protege Dino Beganovic is set to make his F1 debut in practice for the Bahrain Grand Prix.

New rules for the 2025 season mean each regular race driver must hand their car over twice to a rookie driver, instead of just for a single time, in practice, with Ferrari the first team to confirm it is using one of the four required slots.

Beganovic will step into Charles Leclerc's SF-25 alongside Lewis Hamilton, as he makes his F1 weekend debut.

The Swedish-Bosnian will dovetail those duties with the F2 support event, as he embarks on his first full season in the second rung on the ladder with the Hitech squad.

In the season-opener, he finished 14th in the first race, before the feature was cancelled due to heavy rain.

Beganovic won two races in 2024 FIA F3 and is the 2022 FRECA champion.
