Pirelli has unveiled bizarre trophies for this weekend's United States Grand Prix – the first part of the Americas triple-header.

Italian artist and designer Matteo Macchiavelli is the mastermind behind the creation of the trophies, in collaboration with Pirelli Motorsport.

The partner of this weekend's race at the Circuit of the Americas is the F1 tyre supplier, who felt that the drivers being heroes for their efforts needed to be celebrated.

'Heroo' is the name given to the character featured on the trophies, which is an interpretation of the connection between tyres and F1 cars.

Specifically, each of the three trophies for Sunday's grand prix consists of a human silhouette with its arms raised, with each trophy featuring a different colour helmet.

The winning driver and winning team representative will be given a trophy featuring a golden helmet, whilst silver and titanium have been used for the helmets on the trophies for second and third place, respectively.

Fans also have the chance to have their very own US GP trophy, as a limited number of 'Heroo' replicas will be produced and sold.
