Formula 1 has revealed that the São Paulo Grand Prix has been voted as the best race of 2024.
It was a spectacular event which saw Max Verstappen win from 17th on the grid, at a soaked Interlagos.
Rain tormented the grand prix, with qualifying having been cancelled and moved to Sunday morning.
Eventually, qualifying took place at the earliest time an F1 session has ever started – 07:30am local time.
Qualifying featured a staggering five red flags, whilst the race also featured a stoppage following a heavy crash for Williams' Franco Colapinto.
It was a race which had a huge say in the title fight, as Lando Norris failed to convert a sprint victory and pole position into a podium. The Briton finished in sixth.
Alongside Verstappen's remarkable recovery drive, Alpine grabbed the headlines for claiming a shock double podium.
Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly were faultless in the horrible conditions, securing the pair second and third in the race.
This ended up being pivotal to the French team claiming sixth in the constructors' standings. In F1's poll, the São Paulo GP claimed 37% of the votes, ahead of the British GP on 17%.
