F1 fans are split on the value that Monaco holds to the calendar following news of its extension earlier this week.

The iconic venue, which has a long history with the sport, extended its contract until at least the end of the 2031 campaign.

Although it is seen as one of F1's most recognisable locations, the tight and narrow nature of the circuit has often produced stale races.

In recent years, F1 cars have become longer and wider making it increasingly difficult to complete an overtake.

In a recent RacingNews365 poll, we asked you, the fans, if Monaco deserves its F1 contract extension.

Three options were provided, with 35.6 per cent of respondents voting 'Yes - it's an iconic race and should always be on the calendar'.

A further 34.7 per cent agreed that the race should remain on the calendar, but only with the promise that the layout will be altered to improve the racing spectacle.

Finally, 29.6 per cent of voters highlighted it does not deserve its spot on the calendar due to it being “a relic of a bygone era and should be scrapped”.
