F1 fans have issued belief that Max Verstappen is back in the championship fight following his victory at Imola.

The four-time champion took his second victory of the season last weekend, leading home the McLaren duo at the chequered flag.

McLaren has commenced the current season in the strongest form with five wins from the opening seven races.

Oscar Piastri continues to lead the drivers' standings but saw his gap narrow slightly on Sunday following his run to third, behind team-mate Lando Norris and winner Verstappen.

Verstappen currently sits 22 points off the lead of the championship lead, however, with 17 rounds remaining in the campaign, there is still a lot to play for.

RacingNews365 asked F1 fans if Verstappen is back in title contention following McLaren's blistering start to the year.

Well over half of the respondents to the poll voted in favour of another Verstappen title bid, while 20 per cent were adamant that McLaren has the pace to see off a season-long threat from the Dutchman.
