George Russell has led the reaction from Formula 1 drivers to the news that the race in Imola has been cancelled due devastating weather conditions.
Fears that the race could be under threat were raised on Tuesday, as flooding hit the circuit and affected infrastructure in the Imola region.
F1 personnel were told to stay away from the circuit today, with the decision to cancel the race coming hours later.
Drivers have offered their support to the region, as focus has been shifted on the rescue effort due to the adverse weather conditions.
It is the first ever F1 World Championship Grand Prix to be cancelled for weather reasons, with others being called off as a result of the Le Mans disaster in 1955, driver boycotts, political unrest and COVID.
