DS Penske has officially revealed its new car for the upcoming Formula E season, with a striking new livery for the outfit.
The Versailles-based outfit are the first to take the covers off its car for the new Gen3 EVO era of FE, with both two-time champion Jean-Eric Vergne and new signing Maximilian Günther having been present at the launch.
In being the first team to reveal its new car – the DS E-TENSE FE25 – DS Penske are the first outfit to show the car which is, officially, the fastest-ever FIA single-seater.
The new FE Gen3 EVO is capable of 0-60mph in just 1.82s, 30% faster than a current Formula 1 car. This is capable through four-wheel drive, whilst softer Hankook tyres are also being introduced.
For the next FE evolution, DS Penske has installed a new powertrain, developed by DS Performance over the past new years. The new FE car also features new aerodynamic bodywork.
DS Penske has introduced a new livery, which is similar to the one-off design used last season in Monaco. The new design is predominantly black, with golden stripes along the bodywork edges.
Season 11 is a significant one for DS Penske to try and take the fight to the Porsches and Jaguars on a regular basis, with the hope amongst the Franco-American outfit being that it can be achieved with the new car.
“For DS Automobiles, this season has even more significance than a title," said Eugenio Franzetti.
"First of all, we embark on our 10th season of Formula E! Since 2015, our marque has racked up 121 races, four championship titles, 16 victories, 51 podiums, and 24 pole positions – which is exceptional.
"Furthermore, we are now presenting a car that has a brand new design and a new powertrain developed by DS Performance.
"Today, I’m particularly proud of the huge amount of work put in by our engineers and mechanics over the last two years. The DS E-TENSE FE25 will be a huge asset for us to bring DS PENSKE towards some great successes.”
