Drivers unhurt after big Italian F4 crash

Ugo Ugochukwu and Andrea Frasinetti walked away from a frightening accident at the start of the Imola event.

A dramatic crash at the start of an Italian F4 race at Imola on Sunday saw both drivers involved walk away unscathed.

Lining up on pole position, American driver Ugo Ugochukwu stalled his Prema on the grid, and could only watch as the rest of the field weaved either side of him.

Coming up from the back of the grid, Italy's Andrea Frasinetti was unsighted and ploughed into the back of Ugochukwu, with his car suffering heavy damage and coming to rest on its side.

Television footage of the aftermath of the accident shows both drivers were able to walk away from their wrecked cars.

Neither Ugochukwu nor Frasinetti was able to take the restart, with their cars too badly damaged to be repaired in time. Ugochukwu's Prema teammate Nicola Lacorte ulitmately emerged victorious in the restarted race.
