A man has been tragically killed in a car crash on Thursday near the Hard Rock Stadium, the home of the Miami Grand Prix.
The man was driving across the freeway that runs over part of the track, when the vehicle hit the wall of the bridge, somersaulted over the barrier and off the flyover, landing on the F1 track at Turn 16 - the left-hander that leads onto the back-straight.
The driver died after he was ejected from a grey Dodge coupe at 1:45pm local time, after the incident that took place on the southbound off-ramp of Florida Turnpike that leads onto Northwest 199th street, said Florida Highway patrol.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene by fire and rescue crews, with investigators looking into the cause of the accident.
