Drama for Aston Martin as both cars suffer pre-race issues

It remains to be seen whether Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel will be able to take part in Sunday's inaugural Miami Grand Prix due to technical gremlins.

Aston Martin are in a race against time to enter the Miami Grand Prix after issues arose on Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel's cars ahead of the race. Neither Stroll nor Vettel completed the usual laps to the grid when the pit lane opened, with their cars remaining in the Aston Martin garage. A team spokesperson confirmed to RacingNews365.com that a technical problem - related to fuel temperature - has struck both cars.

Aston Martin working towards a pit lane start

Stroll had qualified 10th for Sunday's 57-lap Grand Prix, with Vettel in 13th. "It's not ideal. It's a shame. We were in a good qualifying position," Stroll told Sky Sports F1 next to his empty grid slot. "We had a little issue with the fuel; I'm not exactly sure what it is." Providing Aston Martin can rectify the problem, both cars will start from the pit lane.
