Could weather cause a concern for F1 teams at the Miami GP?

The weather forecast is in for the upcoming Miami Grand Prix weekend. While conditions look set to be humid, there could be a possible change for race day that the teams will want to keep an eye on.

Just days after racing in Azerbaijan, the 2023 F1 season heads over to Miami for the next round on the calendar. The weekend will mark the sport's second visit to the Miami International Autodrome following the inaugural event last year, and it looks set to be a intensely warm few days ahead. However, there could be a risk of showers in store for race day. With thanks to our friends at WeerOnline.nl , here's the current weather forecast for the 2023 F1 Miami Grand Prix.

Warm in Miami with a chance of showers

High temperatures and humidity are not unusual in southern Florida, and these conditions look to be in store for Formula 1's return to Miami. When the action kicks off with Friday's practice sessions, plenty of sunshine is forecast and temperatures could reach 31 degrees Celsius, though track temperatures will be much higher. The day will remain dry with a moderate easterly wind. Similar conditions are expected on Saturday. However, the chance of local rain or a thunderstorm increases during the afternoon. While more sunshine is forecast for Sunday, the possibility of showers is higher than earlier in the weekend. This increases the risk of rain falling when the race gets underway at 15:30 local time, something that the teams and drivers will want to keep a close eye on.
