Could rain turn things upside down at the Spanish GP?

After rain affected running during Saturday's Free Practice 3 session, the possibility remains that showers could fall again when Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix takes place.

After mixed conditions affected some of Saturday's running, more rain could be in store for the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix. Showers fell during Free Practice 3 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, resulting in limited track action during the latter half of the session. While qualifying remained dry, the drivers and teams will definitely want to keep an eye on the skies for Sunday's race. With thanks to our friends at WeerOnline.nl , here's the current weather forecast for the 2023 F1 Spanish Grand Prix.

Showers forecast in Barcelona

Rain is expected to hit Barcelona on Sunday, but there remains uncertainty over whether this will affect the area of the circuit. If it does, showers could fall within an hour of the race getting underway at 15:00 local time (14:00 BST), with sunshine and cloud expected before this. Should rain fall directly over the track, the radar may only pick this up once the shower has already started. However, there is a chance that any showers could pass by the area, meaning that the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya would stay dry. Temperatures are set to reach up to 25 degrees Celsius, making it a warm day with very little wind.
