About Collin Veijer

Motocross is something he grew up with. Collin comes from a real motocross family, where his father, but also his uncles like to race. For example, one of his uncles, Joan Veijer, participated in the Dutch Championship (600 and 1000cc) before. Another uncle is now Collin's coach.

Collin's love for motocross started when he first saw a motorcycle and was really sparked when he got his first motorcycle for his fourth birthday. Four years later, he already won the Dutch Minibike Junior A championship.

Timeline, titles and victories:

  • 2013: First place Dutch Championship Minibike Junior A
  • 2014: Second place Dutch and European Championship Minibike Junior B
  • 2015: First place Dutch Championship Minibike Junior B
  • 2016: Third place CIV MiniGP 50.
  • 2017: European Champion MiniGP class Italy
  • 2018: Second place in the CIV pre-Moto3 class
  • 2019: Twice second place CIV Moto3 class
  • 2020-2021: Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, CEV Respol - European Talent Cup & FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship
  • 2022: Second place in the FIM Junior MotoGP Moto3 class
  • 2023: Seventh place in Moto3
  • 2024: Third place in Moto3
  • 2025: Moto2 participation

Collin Veijer Moto3

In 2023, Veijer will compete in the Moto3 class of the road racing world championship for the LIQUI MOLY Husqvarna Intact GP team. He managed to take pole position during the Moto3 race in Austria at the Red Bull Ring. This is very special, as the last Dutchman to manage this was Jurgen Van der Goorbergh in 1999. In the end, Veijer finished in position 4.

During the GP of Catalunya, Collin crashed and broke his foot. However, this did not stop him from quickly getting back on his bike. A week later at the GP of San Marino he was back on the bike. Here he managed to get a great P5.

During the Moto3 race in India at the end of September, Veijer was long in contention for a podium finish. However, in the final lap, things went wrong. He got involved in a battle for second place with teammate Ayumu Sasaki and competitor Kaito Toba. In the penultimate corner, Sasaki touched Veijer and the Dutchman crashed out, failing to finish the race while Sasaki took third place at the Buddh International Circuit. 

Ultimately, the Dutchman finished seventh in the Moto3 championship, an impressive achievement for a rookie. In 2024, the Dutchman stayed with the same team and managed to score consistently high points, including a victory at Jerez. Veijer eventually finished third in the championship.


Collin Veijer will step up to Moto2 in 2025

In August 2024, it was announced that Collin Veijer would be promoted to the Moto2 class in 2025. The Dutchman will be riding for Red Bull KTM Ajo, a team present in all GP classes.
