Colapinto makes wild claim about 'insane' F1 fans

Franco Colapinto has made quite a claim about F1 fans as his reputation continues to grow.

Franco Colapinto believes that the level of support "insane" F1 fans are giving him has not be replicated "in any other driver so far." Colapinto was drafted in at the Italian Grand Prix by Williams to replace Logan Sargeant, becoming the first Argentine to race in F1 since Gaston Mazzacane in 2001. He scored four points in his second race in Azerbaijan, before adding a further point with 10th place last time in the United States, having made sprint qualifying 3.  He has been touted as a potential candidate for the vacant Stake F1 seat or even at RB if Liam Lawson or Yuki Tsunoda are promoted and Sergio Perez replaced at Red Bull. The Argentine feels that Brazilians and his countrymen in particular are coming together, in a sporting rivalry that has typically been hostile, especially in football. "I am feeling [the passion] of the fans, and that is why I was so excited for these races - and Formula 1 is now seeing how much they've missed those Latino and Argentine fans," Colapinto told media including RacingNews365. "They are extremely insane and in only a couple of races, they have gone crazy and the support that they have, honestly, I haven't seen it in any other driver so far. "It is something very special and unique what I am experiencing. "It is great to see so many Latinos, you can see in other sports, there were fights between Brazilians, the Mexicans and the Argentinians, but in Formula 1, in motorsport, it looks like everyone is together, everyone is supporting me. "There is no fighting between the Brazilians, Mexicans and Argentines, they are all together, there is a common goal and everyone is backing me, it is nice to see. "It is a step forward as a society, I am really happy to see how it ends and I am just enjoying the moment."
