Franco Colapinto has addressed rumours linking him with a seat at RB next season, which Red Bull advisor Hemut Marko has also commented on.

The interim Williams driver has impressed the F1 paddock since he replaced Logan Sargeant at the Italian Grand Prix, but did experience his first difficult weekend in Mexico City.

Colapinto was eliminated in Q1 and finished the race in 12th, following a five-second time penalty for colliding with Liam Lawson.

Despite this, it has been rumoured that Lawson could be set to replace Sergio Perez at Red Bull, opening up a seat at the sister team for Colapinto.

However, in Mexico City, Marko appeared to rule out a swoop for the Argentine F1 star, especially if it was a move on loan from Williams.

Colapinto has also downplayed the rumour and is unsure where it has come from, with him insisting that he remains without an F1 seat for next year.

"No, at the moment, I don't understand much of what they are talking about. I don't know from where it came from," Colapinto told F1 TV.

"I don't have any seat for next year, and at the moment, I'm not racing Formula 1. I'm probably going to be racing somewhere else.

"So look, it's going to be maybe a year that I'm not going to be here, but I hope to be showing that I deserve a seat here enough to come back in '26 or '27. It is my goal, and it's why I'm doing what I can race after race.

"That's why [after qualifying] I was disappointed with the result and just trying to do my best session after session to try and show I deserve to be here."
