The Indianapolis 500 is known for its speed. With cars often exceeding 220 mph it is not uncommon for cars to tangle with each other in turn causing a spectacular accident.
In 2010 British driver Mike Conway tried lunging down the inside of Ryan Hunter-Reay's car, his gambit proved to be unsuccessful and the Britsh Conway was sent careening into the catch fence almost beheading Hunter-Reay in the process.
Both drivers luckily survived the incident with Hunter-Reay winning the Indycar title in 2012.
