Christian Horner believes the major unknown of the 2026 F1 rules could mean Max Verstappen's hypothetical move to Mercedes would be a mistake.
Although Horner has been firm that Verstappen is staying at Red Bull for 2026, the driver himself has not explicitly confirmed this to be the case, as rumours swirl that a deal for him to defect to Mercedes is being worked on.

Oliver Bearman has been hammered by the British Grand Prix stewards after a second red-flag infringement in five races.
In the second practice session for the Monaco Grand Prix, Bearman was handed a 10-place penalty for overtaking the Williams of Carlos Sainz under red-flag conditions.

2025 F1 British Grand Prix - Silverstone Qualifying results
Max Verstappen delivered another outstanding qualifying performance to land pole position for the British Grand Prix.
Seemingly from nowhere, the four-time F1 champion knocked McLaren's Oscar Piastri off top spot with the last lap of the top-10 shoot-out with a 1:24.892, beating Piastri by 0.103s. Lando Norris starts third in his McLaren.

Lando Norris on verge of F1 grid penalty after Silverstone change
McLaren has fitted Lando Norris' car with its final legal control electronics and energy store ahead of qualifying for the British Grand Prix.
Each driver can use two of each component during a season without receiving a penalty, with Norris' MCL39 having been fitted with the second of both.
