Charles Leclerc has delivered a clear request that himself and Lewis Hamilton must join forces to help put an end to Ferrari's current nightmare.

It has been a disastrous start to the season for the Maranello-based outfit, who already find themselves fourth in the F1 constructors' title and 152 points behind McLaren

With the exception of Hamilton's sprint victory in China, Ferrari has been unable to compete with McLaren, who finished 57 seconds ahead in the Miami Grand Prix.

Leclerc and Hamilton had to settle for seventh and eighth in the most recent round, behind Williams' Alex Albon.

It has encountered multiple issues with its SF-25, making Leclerc recognise that both Ferrari drivers must pull together.

"We need to, for sure, I think we will be quite aligned on the fact that it wasn't the Sunday we wanted," Leclerc told select media, including RacingNews365

"And even though the pace is not there, I don't think there was any miracles. If everything will have gone perfectly, maybe we finish in front of Kimi [Antonelli], but that's it.

"There wasn't much more in the car. So I think we need to separate the two things. Yes, we need to fix those issues that probably cost us one position, but the other seven or six positions are down to the car, and this we need to make it better."

There is some small hope in the near future for the Scuderia, who have an upgrades package in the pipeline.

When asked if Ferrari has an upgrade on the horizon, Leclerc responded: "I don't know when. I don't think it's official. I think I've already said too much.

"So, yeah, there will be things coming at one point, and I hope that this will help us to do a step forward."
