Carlos Sainz believes the strongest part of the new F1 movie is the "insane" camera footage captured after drivers were treated to a private viewing.

Starring Brad Pitt and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski, F1: The Movie is set to be released next month, with drivers, their partners and team bosses all getting a first look ahead of the Monaco GP.

Plot lines are strictly subject to non-disclosure agreements but Sainz felt the film's footage was "insane" and the strongest part of the production, although he felt some aspects of the film itself were "Hollywood-esque."

"I truly enjoyed it, I think for us F1 experts, we're going to see things that we sometimes see with Netflix that you can tell are a bit Hollywood-esque," Sainz told media, including RacingNews365.

"I truly believe that for a new fan, it will attract a lot of new audiences, and it will do very well with people who don't know anything about Formula 1.

"For the hardcore fan, journalists and us, we will see things that maybe you think are too American or a bit too Hollywood, but honestly, I enjoyed it.

"There were things that surprised me, and the team have done an outstanding job in putting it together."

When asked about the quality of the camera footage captured, Sainz felt it was the strongest part of the film.

"It is insane, honestly, insane," he said. "For me, it is the best part of it."

When then pushed by RacingNews365 on it attracting new fans, Sainz added he believed it would be a plus.

"They did a survey with a lot of people who have never watched a Formula 1 race, and after watching the film, 100% of people said they would, so that just shows how good it is going to be for the sport.

"Maybe I am completely wrong, but I think it is going to do a lot more good."
