The Cadillac F1 Team has been included in a major restructuring by parent body TWG Global.
TWG Motorsports has been launched to oversee all of the group's motorsport operations, which in addition to the Cadillac grand prix entry, also features teams in IndyCar, NASCAR and IMSA.
TWG Global currently has a sports portfolio, including Chelsea Football Club, the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team as well as shares in LeBron James's Los Angeles Lakers NBA outfit.
The new body will be led by Dan Towriss as CEO, with Towriss a key figure in getting Cadillac accepted onto the F1 grid for 2026, after Andretti's bid was initially rejected on commercial terms by F1.
Cadillac has committed to a full works team by 2028, although it will become a Ferrari customer for its first two seasons before the in-house power unit comes online, with ex-Manor boss Graeme Lowdon signing up to be team principal.
TWG Motorsports will also include the Andretti Global organisation, featuring the IndyCar and Formula E teams, Spire Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series (which itself has a close alliance with the powerhouse Hendrick Motorsports), Wayne Taylor Racing in IMSA and the Walkinshaw Andretti United Australian supercars squad.
“With a combination of operational excellence, technology and innovation, TWG Motorsports has the opportunity to drive true transformation in racing, set new standards for the industry and build a legacy of success across the globe," explained Towriss, who in another role as CEO of an insurance firm manages more than $66 billion in assets.
The new body will "use its comprehensive racing know-how to reshape the industry" through a "technology-forward, cross-industry and operations-driven" approach.
