Jenson Button has signed with Jota Sport for a full-time 2024 World Endurance Championship assault at the wheel of a Porsche.
The 2009 Formula 1 World Champion has raced in a variety of series since his retirement from Grand Prix racing after the 2017 Monaco Grand Prix, including winning the 2018 Japanese Super GT title, a one-off DTM appearance and made his NASCAR Cup debut in Austin earlier this year.
Button was also part of the Garage 56 NASCAR programme for Le Mans in 2023 alongside Jimmie Jphnson and Mike Rockenfeller, coming home 39th overall.
For the Jota Hypercar entry, Button will be behind the wheel of the #38 Porsche 963 machine, joined by Phil Hanson and Oliver Rasmussen.
The sister #12 car will be driven by Callum Ilott, Norman Nato and Will Stevens.
The 2024 WEC calendar will feature eight rounds, beginning in Qatar on March 2nd, two weeks after the traditional season-opening prologue.
Imola, Spa, Interlagos, Austin, Fuji and Bahrain also feature on the schedule, with Round 4 being Le Mans over the weekend of June 15th-16th.
