Martin Brundle has received an OBE in the 2025 New Year Honours list.

The veteran Sky Sports F1 commentator is awarded the Officer of the British Empire award, the second highest possible below a knighthood after CBE (Commander) for services to motor racing and broadcasting.

Brundle has been part of the Sky Sports team since the channel launched in 2012, and previously had spells at the BBC and ITV when they held UK broadcasting rights.

During his career as a driver, Brundle famously battled Ayrton Senna for the British F3 title in 1983 before both graduated to F1 for 1984.

The Briton's career did not go onto match the Brazilian's, with nine podiums from his 158 grand prix starts, although Brundle did win the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1990.

Brundle is the only motorsport figure recognised in the 2025 New Year Honours, with Christian Horner recently collecting the CBE he received in the 2024 list.

Former McLaren boss Sir Ron Dennis was also knighted 12 months ago.
