Bottas disqualified from British GP qualifying

The Alfa Romeo driver qualified in P15 but will now start from the back of the grid.

Valttari Bottas has been disqualified from qualifying for the British Grand Prix after he failed to provide a one-litre fuel sample at the end of the session. He stopped on track at the end of Q1 with an issue, which forced him out of the remainder of the session and means he will start from P15 on the grid provisionally. While it was possible to take 0.090 litre sample of fuel from his car, the amount required is 2.39 litres for the one-litre sample as per the regulations. FIA Technical Delegate, Jo Bauer, referred the matter the stewards in a decision document: "As the amount of fuel needed to produce a one-litre sample plus to return the car to the garage was calculated as 2.39 litre, I am referring this matter to the stewards for their consideration." The stewards determined that there was "no mitigating circumstances" as to why this was the case, and issued a disqualification from the session. The result means that Sergio Perez is promoted to P15, with Yuki Tsunoda, Zhou Guanyu, de Vries, and Magnussen all promoted by one position accordingly.
