Oliver Bearman

Bearman already back behind wheel of Ferrari

The 18-year-old finished a strong seventh on his F1 debut in Saudi Arabia after a smart drive.

Star of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Oliver Bearman has already got back behind with the wheel of a Ferrari Formula 1 car at Fiorano.

The 18-year-old Briton deputised for an appendicitis-stricken Carlos Sainz in Jeddah, qualifying 11th and finishing seventh, ahead of both Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton.

Bearman's seventh was the highest a driver has finished on their debut to score points since Felipe Nasr's fifth in the 2015 Australian Grand Prix.

Sainz is expected to return to the cockpit in Australia on the weekend of March 22-24th, but Ferrari has been keeping Bearman race-fit with a run-out in the 2022 F1-75 machine at its Fiorano test-track.

Bearman is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy, with the 2022 cars now available for teams to use in such private testing.
