Milton da Silva, father of three-time Formula 1 World Champion Ayrton Senna, has died. He was 94-years-old, and is reported to have died of natural causes. The announcement of his death was communicated by the official Ayrton Senna Institute, through a short notice on their social media channels. Da Silva was a familiar figure during Senna's time in Formula 1, due to his very public support of his son. He also featured prominently in footage used in the Senna documentary released a decade ago. Da Silva was married to Neyde Joanna Senna, with Ayrton's full name being Ayrton Senna da Silva – he raced as da Silva in the early part of his initial racing career before assuming his mother's surname in the mid-1980s. Along with Ayrton, Milton da Silva had two other children, Viviane and Leonardo. Viviane is well known, due to her prominent involvement with the Senna Institute, as well as being the mother of former F1 racer Bruno Senna, Ayrton's nephew. All at RacingNews365.com would like to express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Milton da Silva.
