Two weeks on from his on-track clash with George Russell at the Spanish Grand Prix, Max Verstappen was involved in a heated discussion with a Sky F1 reporter in Montreal.

Verstappen made contact with Russell shortly after he was instructed to hand the position over to the Mercedes driver following an incident earlier in the race.

Liam Lawson on brink of F1 grid penalty

Liam Lawson is on the brink of a Formula 1 grid penalty, with the Racing Bulls driver having been fitted with several new engine components almost outside his legal pool. 

For the Canadian Grand Prix, Lawson has been fitted with his final legal internal combustion engine (ICE), turbocharger (TC) and motor generator unit-heat (MGU-H) – the fourth and final legal new component in each pool.

2025 F1 Canadian Grand Prix - Free Practice 1 results

Max Verstappen made a perfect start to the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, by topping first practice at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. 

The Dutchman has won the last three races in Montreal and topped FP1 after setting a 1m 13.193 on the C6 compound.

2025 F1 Canadian Grand Prix - Free Practice 2 results

George Russell went fastest in the second free practice session at the Canadian Grand Prix, narrowly beating Lando Norris by 28 milliseconds.

Kimi Antonelli was third quickest at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, just under three-tenths of a second off his team-mate's lap time of 1:12.123.

Charles Leclerc addresses bombshell Ferrari exit rumour

Charles Leclerc has rubbished speculation in Italian media that he is looking to leave Ferrari, and that team boss Fred Vasseur's position is under threat.

Corriere della Sera claimed that Leclerc is growing unhappy at Ferrari's progress, and is seeking an exit from the Scuderia, whilst Gazetta dello Sport claimed that Vasseur's position could be under threat if performances do not improve.

George Russell reacts to Max Verstappen social media post: 'I was a bit surprised'

George Russell has reacted to Max Verstappen's post-Spanish Grand Prix social media post in which he took accountability for causing the controversial clash with the Mercedes driver.

Ahead of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix, the Briton has confirmed that he was a "bit surprised" to read the Dutchman's words a day after the incident in Barcelona, which moved Verstappen just a penalty point away from a ban.
