Aston Martin have become the third team from this year's Formula 1 grid to launch their new 2022 car. Holding a launch event at the global headquarters of Aston Martin Lagonda in Gaydon in the UK, the AMR22 was revealed to the world as the team live-streamed every moment of the unveiling. Presented on a factory production line, race drivers Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll were joined by team owner Lawrence Stroll. The AMR22 is the first car made by the team to conform to F1's sweeping new technical regulations, and was penned by Chief Technical Officer Andrew Green and Performance Director Tom McCullough – both of whom were also present at the launch event. The team are set to carry out a shakedown on Friday, sending their two drivers along to Silverstone to conduct a filming day with the AMR22 . All teams are permitted two such days every year, with many opting to use one day for the purposes of a shakedown of their new machines.
Aston Martin revise their livery for 2022
The AMR22 boasts a more aggressive livery than its 2021 predecessor, with lime detailing added to a tweaked version of last year's dark green colour scheme. Along with branding from title sponsor Cognizant on the sidepods, wings and chassis, new logos have appeared to mark the arrival of prominent sponsor Aramco, while Peroni, SentinelOne, JCB and Crypto.com also feature across the car. The AMR22 is set to hit the track in anger when pre-season testing begins in Barcelona on 23 February.
