Aston Martin give AMR24 on-track debut at Silverstone

Aston Martin has given the AMR24, its Formula 1 car for the 2024 season, its on-track debut through a shakedown run at the Silverstone Circuit.

Lance Stroll got behind the wheel of the new Aston Martin as it hit the track for the first time shortly after it was publicly launched.

Teams are allowed to conduct two 'filming days' per season, with running on each day limited to 200km. Stroll was given the initial nod to check out the AMR24 ahead of team-mate Fernando Alonso.

Stroll enters his sixth F1 season with the Aston Martin squad, having also raced for it when it ran under its previous 'Racing Point' moniker.

The Canadian will once again be joined by Fernando Alonso who scored eight podiums for the team last year.

Aston Martin commenced the 2023 campaign in strong fashion before its form dwindled as the season wore on.

The Silverstone-based squad ended the year fifth in the Constructors' Championship.
