During the 2023 Belgian Grand Prix, it was announced that Otmar Szafnauer was being pushed aside as Alpine's F1 team boss. A year later, Alpine is again on the verge of appointing a new team principal, RacingNews365 understands. Alpine's current team boss, Bruno Famin is expected to step down as its leader after this weekend's Belgian GP. In all likelihood, he will remain involved with Alpine or Renault but will take on a different role. Since Flavio Briatore was appointed as advisor to Luca de Meo, Renault's CEO, it is clear that a different wind is blowing at Alpine. Briatore clearly wants to change things at the French team and he wants to do so by making rigorous decisions. For example, at Alpine, Briatore is about to say goodbye to the Renault engine and replace it with a Mercedes power unit by 2026. In addition to the likely change in engine supplier, the team is now also about to replace Famin. Alpine is holding talks with several candidates. It is expected that Alpine will announce who will be Famin's successor as early as the short term. Once again, Briatore is showing that Alpine wants to do things differently. Under the leadership of the flamboyant Italian, they want to move on quickly. Other notable decisions in the coming weeks and months are also not out of the question.
