Alpine has delivered a crucial update on the condition of Jack Doohan's car following his scary crash in second practice at Suzuka.
The Australian driver misjudged the first corner just over six minutes into the session and failed to close his DRS at the right moment.
It resulted in an almighty 185 mph accident which he managed to gingerly walk away from, although destroyed his car.
In order for his car to be ready for third practice at the Japanese Grand Prix, Alpine's mechanics worked through the night.
Ahead of third practice, the team has confirmed that the car has been repaired with every part except the power unit having been replaced.
Doohan's crash has further increased the pressure on his shoulders, with Franco Colapinto continuing to be linked with his seat.
