Alpine has announced Oliver Oakes will replace Bruno Famin as its new team principal.

The news comes after Famin's revelation over the Belgian Grand Prix weekend that he will step down from the position, following which his now-confirmed replacement quickly became the front-runner for.

Oakes will be the third team principal at the Enstone squad since the start of last season, after Otmar Szafnauer left mid-way through F1's visit to Spa-Francorchamps in 2023, and will begin work at the French team upon conclusion of the summer break.

Whilst Famin will return Renault's Viry-Chatillon base to head up the French marque's motorsport activities - a role he as dovetailed as Alpine boss - Oakes will become the youngest team principal in F1, and the second-youngest in the championship's history after Christian Horner.

The 36-year-old has been at the helm of F2 and FIA F3 squad Hitech Grand Prix (currently Hitech Pulse-Eight) since he founded the team in 2015. Prior to that, Oakes himself raced, and was formely a member of the Red Bull junior programme.

The team also races in a host of other championships beneath the F1 feeder categories in the motorsport pyramid, including the F3 Asian Championship, Formula Regional series', GB3 and British F4.
