Alpine is on the verge of completing its F1 driver line-up for the 2025 F1 season.

According to a report from Motorsport.com, Pierre Gasly is set to be joined at the team by Jack Doohan.

Doohan, who is Alpine's official reserve driver and son of five-time 500cc motorcycle world champion Mick, would replace Esteban Ocon at the French manufacturer following the 27-year-old's switch to Haas.

Doohan has completed a handful of test outings during his association with the team, which began in 2022.

The Australian has also taken part in six FP1 sessions to date, including in Great Britain and Canada earlier this year.

Alpine was known to be chasing the services of Carlos Sainz for next year, but after the outgoing Ferrari driver chose Williams, it has opened the path for Alpine to promote from within its own academy.

Doohan's promotion would see him become the second rookie confirmed on next year's grid, following Haas' Oliver Bearman.

According to the report, the deal could be publicly confirmed in the coming weeks and before the end of the summer break.
