Fernando Alonso has been called to see Formula 1 stewards for an incident involving Carlos Sainz during the Chinese Grand Prix sprint. The Aston Martin driver must attend the stewards at 12:15 local time - 05:15 UK time - for the Turn 7 incident late in the race that saw the two cars make contact. Alonso received a puncture and did not finish the race after holding Sainz, Sergio Perez, Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris up in a DRS train, with the Ferrari finally squeezing through. Sainz fell away to fifth with Perez third and Leclerc fourth as Max Verstappen won from Lewis Hamilton. He was hit with a penalty by the stewards for it.
