The resultant 20-second penalty dropped Alonso from sixth to eighth but a poll put to readers at RacingNews365 has suggested this verdict from the stewards was incorrect. In fact, 60.6 per cent of voters believe that the penalty for the two-time world champion was unjust. Alonso was also handed three penalty points for his actions.
