Alex Albon light-heartedly joked he is facing his "last race" at Williams after being caught out by boss James Vowles on live radio!
On The Chris Moyles Show on RadioX the morning after the Hungarian Grand Prix, Albon was asked simply how many gears an F1 car has.
The Thai replied that they have seven, despite an eighth gear being added in 2014 for the turbo hybrids, before quickly hoping boss Vowles wasn't listening.
Unfortunately for Albon, Vowles was.
It was a difficult weekend for Albon in Hungary, qualifying 20th and slowest of all on pure pace, and then only climbing to P15 in the race.
But trying to explain himself, Albon joked that the FW47 had been so slow in Hungary on the main straight that he had no need to access eighth gear.
Moyles then quipped Albon had driven his "last race" to which he replied: "Yeah, exactly."
