2025 Indy 500 qualification results
Robert Shwartzman will start from pole for Prema in the Indianapolis 500, an impressive feat given he is a rookie driver.
He is the first rookie on pole at Indy since Teo Fabi in 1983, and is joined on the front-row by two-time winner Takuma Sato and McLaren's Pato O'Ward.
Shwartzman roared to pole on Prema's first Indy 500 appearance with an average speed of 232.79 mph (374.64 kph)!
Two Team Penske drivers, Josef Newgarden and Will Power, received heavy penalties for using an illegally modified rear attenuator.
As a result, both drivers have been moved to the back of the grid. In addition, IndyCar fined both entries $100,000, suspended the respective team strategists, and revoked their qualifying points.
