For the first time, the FIA World Endurance Championship heads to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend, for the Six Hours of Barcelona.
The former home of the Spanish Grand Prix held the WEC prologue in 2019, but the series has not been back since. With Middle Eastern rounds struck from the calendar, the trip to Barcelona precedes a visit to Monza to end the campaign.
The #8 Toyota crew enters the penultimate round of the season leading the sister #7 car by 10 points in the drivers' standings, while the Japanese car giant also tops the manufacturers' championship.
BMW continues to impress during its breakout year, with its two cars third and fourth in the drivers' standings. Ferrari has endured a wretched campaign, and leaves the team with considerable ground to make up in the championships.
After a thrilling contest last time out in Fuji, can the #8 Toyota further strengthen its claim on the drivers' title in Spain?
