Formula E returns this weekend for the final stop of the Asian leg of its 2026 campaign with the Tokyo E-Prix – the penultimate venue of the season.

The all-electric series returns to the Japanese capital for the third successive year for a double-header at Tokyo Big Sight, but with the major difference of both races taking place at night.

Formula E's previous trips to Tokyo have seen races held during the day, but the lights will come alive this time around, with wet weather, as in Shanghai, expected to play a role.

Tokyo hosts the 14th and 15th rounds of the 17-round season, which edges ever closer to its climax next month in London. Every race is critical in the title fight.

A dominant performance in Shanghai saw Pascal Wehrlein become the championship leader by nine points ahead of Mitch Evans, who has never finished a race in Tokyo. Reigning world champion Oliver Rowland sits third, 27 points adrift.

Wet weather is currently forecast throughout the event, although, as in Shanghai, conditions can change rapidly. Thunderstorms are also a possibility. Last year saw qualifying cancelled on the opening day, something everyone will be eager to avoid repeating.

First practice kicks off the event on Friday at 19:00 local time (11:00 BST). Saturday and Sunday both feature a practice session, qualifying and an E-Prix, with Saturday's race including Pit Boost and Sunday's featuring two Attack Modes. The sessions take place at the same times on both days.
