Felipe Drugovich secured a first career Formula E pole ahead of the second race of the Shanghai E-Prix double-header.
The Andretti driver defeated DS Penske's Taylor Barnard in the final to claim pole, with Saturday's winner Pascal Wehrlein and reigning world champion Oliver Rowland securing third and fourth.
Norman Nato completed the top five but is under investigation for a technical infraction, while there were some big shocks early doors.
Championship leader Mitch Evans failed to make the duels and starts from 14th, two positions ahead of Antonio Felix da Costa but two behind Jake Dennis.
