Jake Dennis ended a one-year wait for a pole position at a dusty and slippery Jakarta E-Prix, defeating McLaren's Taylor Barnard in the final.
Barnard had the edge but a costly mistake handed Dennis pole, much to the delight of Andretti and the Season 9 world champion.
Mahindra's Nyck de Vries excelled once again and secured third on the grid, ahead of Nick Cassidy who delivered an impressive performance for Jaguar.
Championship leader Oliver Rowland suffered a shock exit and will start from the ninth row, whilst Antonio Felix da Costa and Pascal Wehrlein also failed to make the duels.
