It was Fernando Alonso who topped a rain-affected second practice for the 2023 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.

The arrival of rain ruined team's usual preparations during FP2, with the qualifying and race simulation attempts disrupted.

Meanwhile, drivers did get their first taste of 2023 machinery in wet conditions, as the dry running provided a jumbled up top four with home driver Oscar Piastri 14th.
