Alexander Rossi - 2015
Rossi was a perennial contender for the Haas seat in 2016 (think American team + American driver), but this never materialised.
His only taste of actually racing in F1 came via a four race stint at a dreadfully slow Manor in the back half of 2015.
He took a best finish of 12th - ironically at home - but has not been back in F1 since a switch to IndyCar for 2016.
On his very first attempt, he won the Indianapolis 500 that year - the 100th running of the event and is set to race for Zak Brown's McLaren squad in 2023.
