Norris keen to race at Le Mans and the Indy 500

The McLaren F1 driver has opened up his options to compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Indy 500 in the future

Lando Norris has revealed he would love to compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Indy 500 at some point during his career. The Brit is currently focusing on Formula 1 but wants a taste of two of motorsport's biggest and most iconic events in the future. "I would love to do both Le Mans and the Indy 500," Norris told Sky Sports. "To start with I would do Le Mans. I did the 24 Hours of Daytona a few years ago. I loved that and I feel more ready to have a go at something like that. "The Indy 500 is definitely something further down the line in many years to come." McLaren have a two-car team in IndyCar whilst a return to Le Mans has been on the cards in recent years. Fernando Alonso was allowed to compete at Indianapolis in 2017 when he was racing with McLaren in F1 and Norris would like to emulate the two-time world champion although he did not specify when. "The Indy 500 is something I always watch, it's one of the biggest races in motorsport," said Norris. "One day I might be able to find out what the buzz is all about. "The cars look cool. I get annoyed every time I watch IndyCar because it makes me want to get up and drive again. They are very different to what I'm used to."
