Fans who planned to attend to the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix this weekend will be offered a refund, after Formula 1 decided not to proceed with the race due to adverse weather.
The Emilia Romagna region was hit with heavy flooding and rainfall in the week, which affected the Imola circuit and caused the track to close to personnel on Wednesday while preparation was underway.
After consultation between F1, the circuit promoters, and local authorities, the decision was taken not to proceed due to the increased strain it could put on rescue efforts.
The Imola circuit has said fans will be able to claim a refund or convert their tickets into ones for the race in 2024, with it widely expected that it will not make a return to the calendar in 2023 owing to the dense schedule.
