Alpine surprise with two planned race liveries

Alpine have presented their brand new A522 in two different liveries, both of which will be raced during the 2022 season.

Alpine will race their new A522 with a unique livery for the first two races of the 2022 season, before switching to a 'regular' colour scheme. Marking the signing of new title sponsor BWT, the Austrian water treatment company, Alpine will start the season with a bright pink livery – evoking memories of the Racing Point livery up until 2020. The 'flipped' livery will be raced for the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix, before Alpine revert to their original launch livery. This scheme introduces the pink of BWT on the sidepods and front/rear wings, but keeps the traditional blue as the dominant colour.

BWT boss: "Let's colour the world pink!"

Andreas Weissenbacher, CEO of BWT, welcomed the arrival of pink on the Alpine car, as well as the unveiling of the predominantly pink Alpine livery that will be used for the first two races of the season. "My big dream is to do everything in pink," he smiled. "The Alpine team made it possible and it will be astonishing – it's a touching moment for me. "I'm very happy that Luca [de Meo, Groupe Renault CEO] is taking the courage and spreads with us, via Alpine, this big idea in paint which stands for sustainability, for social responsibility. "Let's spread this idea around the world and make the world a little bit better. "It's a pure pleasure of my whole team over the world to be supportive. We are very thankful to the big boss and to his team that, in Bahrain as well as in Saudi Arabia, we will have a pink race car!"
