Imola will play host to the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix and the first F1 Sprint event of the 2022 season this weekend.

Charles Leclerc and Ferrari arrive at the venue with a healthy lead in both championships, but there are more points on offer than ever before as part of a revised scoring system for the three Sprints in 2022.

When is the 2022 Emilia Romagna GP?

The 2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix will be held across the weekend of 22-24 April.

In a break from the usual format, qualifying will take place after first practice on Friday, setting the grid for 100-kilometre F1 Sprint on Saturday afternoon.

Here's an explanation of the Sprint format and how it has changed for 2022.

How many laps is the Emilia Romagna GP?

Following the Sprint, Sunday's Grand Prix will take place over 63 laps of the 4.909-kilometre Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, more commonly known as Imola, with a maximum race time of two hours if there are any stoppages or delays.
